A Blu-Ray Masterpiece
Wall-e! That’s about the only spoken word you’ll hear for most part of the movie. This Pixar movie is a great feat in animated film making, both from a technical point of view and story telling as it’s relying very little on the spoken word to narrate the movie, but instead the actions and expressions of the characters. The rusty little robot is left alone on earth and spends its lonesome days sorting rubbish, until one day he gets a close encounter of the third kind. I probably don’t have to go into great lengths of selling you the merits of the movies, as you probably know already that it’s the best thing to come out of the animation studio since their last film.
Before actually firing up the movie feature, I spent about ten minutes prior to calibrate my home cinema system. You see, this nifty little Blu-Ray comes with a calibration exercise to make the most of your Audio and Video set-up by tweaking picture format, contrast, and speaker positioning etc..
In addition, the Blu-Ray transfer of Wall-E is probably the best usage of the format so far. The colours are absolutely splendid, and the the audio nothing short of stunning. If you are mostly renting your discs, this is one that’s actually worth adding to your permanent library. A solid top scorer.
