W. ( Dub-ya ) Blu-Ray Review

Uhhh.. Four Stars, That's Almost Five.. Umm.. and shouldn't be misunderestimated.

Uhhh.. Four Stars.. Emmm.. But you know what they say about four stars instead of five - it shouldn't be misunderestimated as sometimes you need four stars and not five.

Hot of the Blu-Ray presses on the UK market, W. is a film not to be misunderestimated. I’ll admit I’ve already seen this flick in the theaters, but thought it’s such a great movie so worth actually buying for a second watch. If the title of the movie isn’t a dead give away of the plot, here goes: it depicts the life of George W Bush, from a spoiled and drunken student to his days in the Oval office during which he might not have been drinking as much, but still managed to upset a lot of people and nations.

Actor Josh Brolin is a dead ringer for the former president, and does a great job throughout the whole film. I certainly enjoyed learning a bit more about the family releations and internal politics of Bush Juniors career. Whether or not you’re a fan of Bush’s politics, I think you should see this movie.

The Blu-Ray Release of W. has a very clear and detailed picture in Full HD resolution. Sound wise it’s however not that exciting as it’s mostly dialogue and only some subtle music. On the extras you’ll find the usual audio commentary and some other pretty uninteresting features (e.g. 83 text documents about the movie!), which doesn’t really add much to the total package.

The Blu-Ray is not quite a top performer, but the movie in itself is very good. A great disc well-worth a rental or purchase.
