No Country For Old Men Review

A Solid 5 Star Movie

A Solid 5 Star Blu-Ray Movie

The Coen Brothers have long been personal favourites of mine. Their films are usually disturbingly clever, witty and a bit grizzly. No Country for Old Men is no exception and thanks to the Blu-Ray Film release I’ve been able to enjoy the movie in full glory at home again and again. The movie cast is an extraordinary bunch of people, from well-known Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, to up and coming actor Javier Bardem.

No Country for Old Men kicks off when Llewelyn Moss (Brolin’s character) finds a pick-up truck filled with drug money. This is the start to a frantic cat and mouse chase with some very intense scenes.

The Blu-Ray film will definitely test your HD TVs black levels and contrast, and is one of the most demanding films I’ve run on my set-up. The PCM 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is also very good, but not at the same brilliant level as the picture. Overall this is a great movie that should be in your collection. Highly recommended.
