The Coen brothers masterful crime drama Fargo hits UK blu-ray players on May 4. The story revolves around a not so successful car salesman who arranges for two thugs to kidnap his wife in order to collect a ransom from her welthy father. Unfortunately this simple plan isn’t going exactly as expected.

The Fargo blu-ray release has a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack.

A brilliant movie that’s highly recommended.

The British supernatural sitcom Being Human is making its way onto Blu-ray for a May 11 release. The comedy show revolves around two flat sharing guys – Mitchell and George – who are also a vampire and a werewolf, and whose flat is haunted by the ghost of Annie. Sounds twisted? You bet! Is it funny! Absolutely!

The Being Human Blu-ray series 1 boxset clocks in at no less than 345 minutes in gorgeous high definition. No details about the soundtrack as of yet.

Fancy watching Kiera Knightly as fierce bounty hunter beauty Domino in full hd? Well now you can; Domino blu-ray was released today so should be in a store near you already. Other noteworthy cast are Mickey Rourke as old-school bounty hunter and Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green from 90210 fame as hilarious tv hosts.

The blu-ray feature come with Dolby TrueHD so all those shoot outs should sound even more glorious than the original DVD release.

Fans of Frank Millers dark and violent noir comic books have a treat in store in May as both Sin City and The Spirit are being unleashed on Blu-Ray. Sin City is the 2005 tale of redemption and revenge starring Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke, whilst The Spirit is the 2008 flick about a ghost cop and stars Samuel L Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.  Sin City is out on May 4th whilst The Spirit hits shelves on the 25th.

The two-disc edition of Sin City will feature both the restored theatrical version (disc 1) and a recut, extended and unrated version (disc two) plus a shed-load of extras like an all green-screen version, sin city live in concert, and many behind the scenes like ‘convincing Frank Miller to make the film’, about the props, special effects make-up and costumes.

With the same director as The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith tackles his latest project head on about a man seeking redemption after being devastated by a tragedy. On the outside the protagonist Ben Thomas (Will Smith= might look like a great success, but on the inside he’s filled with grief about his past.

I haven’t seen this movie yet, but look forward doing so once released, so keep your eyes out for a review once I got my hands on this one.

The Blu-ray release is in 2.40:1 widescreen and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio, and if the US release is anything to go by hopefully it’ll come with a digital copy as well (although standard definition…)

In the wait for the latest chapter of the Terminator story to hit the silver screen, it’s a great time to revise your Terminator knowledge.

The third Terminator movie will be available on Blu-ray by 25th of May. Having seen the movie a couple of years ago I feel that it’s definitely the weakest of them all so far, and with Bale being the leading man for the fourth flick I’m sure the third one will keep that title. There’s currently no further details available about the Blu-ray specifications, but seeing that T2 blu-ray got DTS-HD I would suspect the same.

Already the first two movies plus the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, are readily available on Blu-ray.

The brilliant HBO drama Mad Men is due for a UK Blu-ray release in early May. Being a huge fan of the show, I certainly look forward to owning this masterpiece on blu-ray.

The show revolves around a fictional New York Madison Avenue advertising agency in the fifthies. The main character is creative mastermind Donald Draper, who’s as very intrguing character. Even if you’re not hugely interested in the advertising world, it’s definitely worth a watch purely for it’s compelling stories and true interpretation of the era.

The box set will weigh in on three discs with over 10 hours of the show, with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.

Underworld is one of those movies that I’ve just never come about to watch. Now that the trilogy is soon available on Blu-Ray I might just finally do that. The package contains Kate Beckinsdale in a very tight suit, fighting her way through the movies Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, and newly released Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Or actually, she’s only lending her voice for the last film and some reused fotage from past movies.

If you’re a fan, that gives you about 320 High-Definition minutes of Underworld bonanza. The Underworld Trilogy Blu-Ray will hit store shelves on May 18th in UK.

In  time for the theatrical release of Angels of Demons, the block buster movie the Da Vinci Code will make its way onto HD glory on Blu-Ray this summer. Sony has announced the release date for the Blu-Ray version to 4th May in the UK.

In addition to the full-length feature, the disc will be packed with goodies for fans of the movie such as BD-Live with chat functionality, an interactive picture in picture feature, and a massive 17 featurettes of behind the scenes and other content. And if your eagerly awaiting the latest movie in the series, there’s also an exclusive five-minute scene from Angels and Demon.
