Sean Penn’s latest endeavour has been hailed a masterpiece. The story about gay activist Harvey Milk is very compelling, and beautifully told through the lense of director Gus Van Sant. The supporting cast is also brilliant, noticeably Emie Hirsch and Josh Brolin.

Milk blu-ray release is expected to be in 1.85:1 wide screen and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Look forward to a review once we’ve got our copy.

Slumdog Millionaire Blu-Ray June 1

The hottest Danny Boyle film to date will grace blu-ray players around the UK starting June 1. This cheerful rags to riches story that revolves around the Indian edition of Who Wants to be a Millionare is two hours of pure bliss to watch.

With a stellar cast, great story and beautifully shot this is a must have for the blu-ray collection. The Slumdog Millionare Blu-ray feature is in 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack.

The Wrestler Blu-Ray June 1

Mickey Rourke will slam onto Blu-ray in June as a faded professional pro wrestler. The critically acclaimed movie will be presented in 2.35:1 1080p widescreen and a5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Trainspotting Blu-ray Ultimate Collector's Edition – June 1

The drug filled tragi-comedial drama Trainspotting is due on UK Blu-ray beginning of June. A personal favourite of mine, Ewan McGreggor, is absolut stellar in his portrayal of an Edinburgh junkie who’s friends are as original as can be – violent Begbie, misfit Spud, cool dude Sick boy and the good guy Tommy. And of course adolescent Diane.

Directed by Danny Boyle this is the movie that put him in the worlds spotlight the first time around.

The Blu-ray is expected to have True HD 5.1 surround sound, but other specs are so far scarce.

Gran Torino Blu-Ray June 15

Iron-willed and tin fueled man Eastwood

Clint Eastwoods latest masterpiece is ready for a UK Blu-ray release on June 15.

Eastwood portrays an iron-willed war vet from the Korean war, who is forced to confront his own prejudices as his neighbours are Korean. The movie has gotten a mixed bag of reviews, but I for one look forward to another hopefully Eastwood classic. The movie got 80% by rotten tomatoes.

Haven’t seen it in the theatres yet as want to save this one for my HD home cinema, and look forward to the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound.

Ghostbusters Blu-Ray June 15

Cult comedy Ghost Busters is preparing for its June 15th Blu-Ray release. The 1984 movie should look sharper than ever in 1080p and we look forward to hearing the theme song in Dolby TrueHd 5.1.
